I really enjoy working with families! I provide online and in home family therapy at this time. When working with families, I take an Emotion-Focused Therapy approach and also model my ideas from Virginia Satir’s Family Systemic Therapy. I want to create a safe space where everyone feels heard and respected. I have worked with entire families and also done sessions around challenging sibling dynamics and parent/adult child relationships. I have supported families where the parents are separating or divorcing and there has been a lot of conflict. Recently, I have been supporting families whose children/youth are struggling with overuse or concerns with video gaming and social media.

Here is a old picture of my mom, my sister and I. I can empathize with the struggles families face as I struggled with my relationship with my mom and my sister and I had our disagreements as well.

It is really important not only to work through issues but also spend quality time together as a family. It really helps if you let your child/youth choose the activity. If you spend 20 minutes a day with your child you are bound to have a greater attachment. I emphasize Connection before Correction!

My family played paint ball together! It was a very bonding experience. I think we also found a healthy way to release some family frustrations.
